Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our night shift team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during overnight hours, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all patients. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and assisting with daily activities.
- Observe and record patient conditions accurately, reporting any changes to senior medical staff promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for examinations or procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, medication usage, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and promptly in accordance with hospital policies.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies or urgent situations, providing immediate nursing intervention as required.
- Lead the team and oversee the smooth running of the home in the absence of management, ensuring residents’ safety, staff support, and high standards of care are maintained.
Requirements
- Valid registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or equivalent regulatory body.
- Proven experience in patient care within a hospital or clinical setting is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to support accurate assessment and treatment.
- Proficiency in medication administration, including understanding dosages, contraindications, and potential side effects.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively during night shifts.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work night shifts on a regular basis, including weekends if necessary.
