This is a 6-month temporary contract.
Join Our Outdoor Team at The Hesdin Estate!
We're looking for a hands-on, outdoor-loving Outdoor Housekeeper & Grounds Assistant to join the team at The Hesdin Estate — and help us keep things looking absolutely stunning for our guests.
About Us
The Hesdin Estate is 20 acres of countryside magic near Chapmanslade, Wiltshire. Six luxury holiday homes (with more on the way), gorgeous gardens, and a cast of characters that includes alpacas, goats, and pigs. We set the bar high — for our guests, our spaces, and ourselves — and we have a lot of fun doing it.
This role is coming up as we prepare for a new property opening, so if you love the outdoors, take pride in the details, and enjoy seeing a space transform — this one's for you.
Why You'll Love It Here
- Work Outside, Every Day — Fresh air, open grounds, and 20 acres of countryside beauty as your daily backdrop
- Brilliant Hours — Mondays & Fridays only, 10:00–15:00. Built for real life
- A Team That Has Your Back — You won't be thrown in the deep end. Our estate team will guide, support, and work alongside you
- Great Perks — Family swim sessions, staff discounts, referral bonuses… and yes, cake
What You'll Be Doing
No two days are the same at The Hesdin Estate — and that's what makes it brilliant. Your days will include:
- Keeping gardens, patios, and outdoor guest areas looking immaculate
- Cleaning and prepping BBQs ready for guest arrivals
- Supporting pool, swim spa, and hot tub housekeeping (full training provided)
- Window cleaning and general external property presentation
- Mowing lawns and routine landscaping duties
- Carrying out property and safety checks
- Helping with outdoor changeover prep between guest stays
- Spotting and reporting maintenance issues before guests ever notice them
- Jumping in where the team needs you during busy periods
What We're Looking For
- Someone who genuinely notices the small stuff — a wonky planter, a smudged window, a gate that needs a wipe
- Reliable, hardworking, and happy getting stuck in outdoors in all weathers (this is the English countryside, after all)
- Comfortable working independently but just as happy as part of a team
- Practical, adaptable, and cool under pressure when priorities shift
- Able to use a smartphone or tablet for checklists and reporting
Experience is helpful — but attitude and pride in your work will take you much further here.
