Butcher – Grappelli Deli & Butchery

Grappelli Deli & Butchery is an Italian deli, butcher, and grocery store in the heart of Northcote Road. We’re all about great food, good service, and creating a warm, welcoming space where customers feel like regulars - even on their first visit.
We’re looking for an experienced Butcher to join our team - someone who takes pride in their craft, cares about the quality of their work, and enjoys working with good ingredients.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for preparing and cutting a variety of meats to our standards, keeping the butchery counter well presented, and making sure all work is carried out safely and hygienically. You’ll also be serving customers, helping them choose the right cuts and products, and answering questions about the meat and how it can be prepared.
You’ll be working closely with the rest of the team, so good communication and a willingness to work together are important. Keeping your workspace, equipment, and counter clean and organised is also a key part of the role.
We’re looking for someone with previous retail butchery experience and a good level of technical skill. You don’t need to be an expert in Italian butchery, but an interest in Italian food and ingredients would be a real advantage.

We’re looking for someone reliable and organised, who takes care with what they do and enjoys providing a friendly, knowledgeable service to our customers. If you’re confident with a knife, comfortable behind a counter, and genuinely enjoy being a butcher, we’d love to hear from you.

Experience:
- Retail butchery: 6 months minimum (preferred)
