Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and organised activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages curiosity and independence among children.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each child's individual needs and development plans.
- Lead and manage small teams of nursery assistants or junior staff members, providing guidance and support.
- Organise daily schedules, ensuring smooth transitions between activities while adhering to health and safety policies.
- Drive organisational initiatives aimed at improving the quality of early childhood education within the setting.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding procedures, and early childhood development principles.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential.
- Passionate about early childhood education with a caring and nurturing approach.
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining flexibility in a dynamic environment.
