EYFS Teaching Assistant – Durham DH7 (Monday to Friday mornings, ongoing)
We’re currently working with a fantastic Primary School in Durham DH7 that’s looking for a part-time EYFS Teaching Assistant from September 2026.

What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting children in nursery including whole-class support, group, and 1:1 interventions.
- Working with pupils with a range of needs, including SEMH, behavioural challenges, emotional dysregulation, and EHCPs.
- Delivering or assisting with phonics interventions (experience within either following Read Write Inc., Jolly Phonics, or Sounds Write is desirable).
- Running or supporting therapy-based interventions for small groups or individuals.
- Using positive behaviour management approaches – experience with PACE and Restorative behaviour model approach.
- Helping children manage their emotions and feel safe, supported, and confident in school.
What we're looking for:
- Level 2/3 qualification or higher in a relevant field (e.g. Teaching Assistant, Education, Early Years, Child Psychology, or Early Childhood Studies).
- Experience supporting children across EYFS.
- Strong background in 1:1 support, particularly with SEMH and lower ability learners.
- Knowledge or experience in phonics and academic interventions.
- A nurturing, calm, and proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
- A willingness to adapt and contribute positively in mainstream classes.
