Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high-quality home care services to clients in their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives by supporting their independence and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and comfortable working independently within a community setting. A valid driving licence and the ability to use IT systems are desirable to facilitate efficient service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring clients' needs are met with dignity and respect
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light domestic tasks
- Support clients in maintaining their independence and social engagement within their homes
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems and document any changes in client conditions
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures and safeguarding policies
- Drive to clients’ homes as part of the role, ensuring punctuality and reliability in service delivery
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between clients’ residences
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow care plans accurately
- Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues
- Basic IT skills for recording care activities and updating client records
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism at all times
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of care and safety
Pay: £14.75-£17.95 per hour
