Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate South Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in South Indian cuisine, demonstrating exceptional food preparation and cooking skills.
This role involves supervising kitchen operations, managing a team, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will contribute to creating authentic dishes that delight our customers and dedicated chefs for live kitchens managing party orders.
A strong background in hospitality, leadership, and food production is essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic South Indian dishes with precision and attention to detail
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
- Manage food production processes, including tight control on the ingredient, authentic cuisine and receipes, timely preparation instructions, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development to introduce new dishes while maintaining traditional flavours for Parties and Festive occasions
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment
- Serve dishes to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment specialising in South Indian cuisine or similar culinary traditions
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques specific to South Indian dishes
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse culinary team effectively
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in hospitality standards and customer service excellence
- Experience in serving customers directly or within a hospitality setting is advantageous
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and maintain high standards of culinary excellence
Pay: £15.00-£18.50 per hour
