Team Leader – Care Home (Full Time)

Are you an experienced care professional looking to take the next step in your career? St Minver House Care Home is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Team Leader to join our dedicated leadership team.
St Minver House is a friendly 37-bed residential care home providing high-quality care and support for older people, including those living with dementia. As Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents receive outstanding, person-centred care while supporting and leading our care team on a day-to-day basis.
The Role
Working closely with the Home Manager, you will lead and support our team of Care Assistants and Senior Care Assistants, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and professionalism are maintained throughout the home.
You will act as a role model for the team, providing leadership, guidance, and support while helping to create a positive working environment where residents always come first.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support the care team during each shift.
- Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.
- Administer medication safely and accurately in line with company policies and current legislation.
- Assist the Home Manager with quality assurance audits, compliance checks, and maintaining CQC standards.
- Support with care planning, documentation, and record keeping.
- Monitor the wellbeing of residents and respond appropriately to changing needs.
- Liaise effectively with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Mentor, coach, and support new and existing staff.
- Ensure infection prevention, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures are always followed.
- Promote dignity, independence, choice, and respect for every resident.
About You
- Previous experience working within a residential care home, preferably supporting older people and those living with dementia.
- Experience leading or supervising care staff.
- Competent in administering medication.
- Good understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, infection prevention, and person-centred care.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Calm, compassionate, and able to make decisions confidently.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards) is desirable.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional care.
