Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Support Worker to provide essential care and support to a 7 year old girl who has been diagnosed with ASC. This role involves working closely with families to offer temporary relief, ensuring children receive personalised care in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to individual care plans. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the child's needs are met effectively and compassionately
- Support children during daily activities, including play, meal times, and rest periods
- Assist with transportation by driving children to appointments or activities as required
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with families, colleagues, and other professionals involved in the child's care
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
- Engage children in stimulating activities that promote development and well-being
- Collaborate with team members to plan and implement support strategies tailored to each child's unique needs
Qualifications
- Must have DBS clearance
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or behavioral challenges
- Valid driving licence and confidence in transporting children safely
- Knowledge of childcare practices and experience implementing care plans
- Strong communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with families and professionals
- Compassionate nature with patience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a supportive environment
