Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Worker to join our team in maintaining and enhancing the production facility, assisting with day to day maintenance and operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct procedure is actioned for the picking, loading and delivery of orders.
- Loading and off-loading of wagons safely, in a timely manner, and working in accordance with the Company’s safe systems of work.
- Stacking stock product safely in the Yard in adherence to the correct Company procedure.
- Ensuring goods are checked, accounted for and loaded on correctly.
- Ensure that the packaging of picked product is secure and to a satisfactory standard with no torn labels, unsealed wrapping and broken pallets.
- Conducting pre-shift checks.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and maintenance in the Yard.
- Adherence to HSE standards and safe systems of working.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of stone cutting machinery.
- Undertaking other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth running of the business.
Experience
The following skills and experience are desirable for the Yard Worker role:
- Proficiency in grounds keeping and maintenance
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, construction, manufacturing or similar practical environment.
- Familiarity with using power tools for outdoor tasks
- Knowledge of operating mechanical equipment
- Ability to work with hand tools effectively
Full driving licence required
Forklift licence required
