Modern Movers Ltd is looking for an Experienced Porter / Furniture Fitter / Senior Removals Team Member to join our growing removals company.
This is not a standard porter role.
We are looking for someone experienced, reliable, physically strong, professional, and skilled with furniture dismantling and reassembly.
This role is for someone who can help lead by example on jobs, support drivers, train junior porters, protect customer property, and help Modern Movers maintain a high standard.
Role includes:
- House and office removals
- Safe lifting, loading and unloading
- Protecting customer property
- Dismantling and reassembling furniture where required
- Working with beds, wardrobes, desks, tables and other household/office furniture
- Using basic tools safely and professionally
- Supporting drivers and junior porters on jobs
- Training new porters on company standards
- Helping jobs run smoothly and efficiently
- Following company procedures properly
- Assisting with packing, wrapping and preparation work
- Helping with van checks, tool checks and equipment organisation
- Supporting HQ, storage, warehouse, materials and internal tasks when required
- Representing Modern Movers professionally at all times
What we are looking for:
- Experienced removals porter preferred
- Furniture dismantling and reassembly experience
- Confident using tools

- Able to guide less experienced team members
- Willing to help with different operational tasks when there are no removal jobs
This position is for someone who understands that premium pay comes with premium responsibility.
When there are no customer jobs, the time may still be used for productive company work such as training, van checks, tool checks, storage work, packing materials, warehouse organisation, HQ tasks, furniture preparation, materials handling or other operational support.
Pay:
Premium hourly rate available for the right person.
Regular hours may be available for suitable candidates who prove reliability, professionalism, skill and commitment.
Important:
This role is not for someone who only wants easy hours.
