Note: Employees are expected to work in accordance with the needs of the service and must be available and ready to work evenings, weekends, and participate in on-call duties as required to ensure effective service delivery.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Field Care Supervisor to support and supervise our care staff across the community. You will play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care delivery. This role is varied and hands-on, including staff supervision, rota management, spot checks, and direct care cover when required. A key part of the role is to participate in the on-call rota as a core duty of the position. On-call responsibilities are included in your contracted role and not paid separately.
Key Responsibilities.
Supervise, mentor, and support care staff in the field, promoting best practice and high-quality care.
Conduct spot checks, competency assessments, observations, and quality monitoring visits.
Complete initial and ongoing service user assessments, including risk assessments, and update care plans as needed.
Deliver staff inductions, shadowing, supervision meetings, and performance reviews.
Keep accurate records of visits, observations, staff supervisions, and service user interactions.
Ensure compliance with CQC requirements, safeguarding standards, and company policies.
Act as the first point of contact for staff and service users, providing guidance and resolving issues promptly.
Assist with rota management, ensuring care visits are covered and continuity of service is maintained.
Participate in the on-call rota as a standard duty of your role, including:
Taking calls from staff, service users, and families outside office hours.
Responding to emergencies, safeguarding concerns, or urgent staffing issues.
Arranging cover for unplanned staff absences.
Attending urgent visits in the community if required to ensure service continuity.
Person Specification:
NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
Previous experience in domiciliary care, with sound knowledge of care planning and safeguarding.
Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a care environment.
Full UK driving licence with access to a reliable vehicle.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
Experience in staff training, coaching, or mentoring.
Knowledge of CQC inspections and quality assurance processes.
What We Offer
£13.50 per hour pluspaid mileage.
- As part of your role, you are required to cover the on-call rota for 2 weeks out of every four (4) weeks. During on-call periods, you are expected to be available and responsive to service requirements. You may be required to cover colleagues ON CALL on their leaves or sickness, where this is necessary.
