Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will support the pharmacy operations by recommending over-the-counter medicines, accurately dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Duties
- Recommend over-the-counter medications
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and label medication orders in accordance with legal and safety standards.
- Support medication administration processes, including managing stock levels and ensuring proper storage.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries, offering guidance on medication usage, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing payments.
- Assist in stock replenishment, checking expiry dates, and reporting shortages or discrepancies promptly.
Experience
- Prior experience as a pharmacy assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is desirable. However, training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy operations is advantageous.
- Experience in patient care, including providing clear communication and support to diverse patient groups, is preferred.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software system (Proscript) will be considered an asset.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail are essential for accuracy in dispensing medications.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism is required.
