Lewknor Preschool is a friendly, community-based preschool in the village of Lewknor, Oxfordshire. We provide high-quality early years care and education, including outdoor forestry sessions, in a warm and welcoming setting.
The role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Level 3 practitioner to join us as Deputy & Room Leader. You will lead the day-to-day running of our preschool room, support and mentor our team, and deputise for the Preschool Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their early years career.
You will:
- Lead the daily operation of the room and ensure EYFS ratios are always met
- Deliver and oversee a high-quality EYFS curriculum tailored to children's individual needs
- Lead SENCO duties and support children with additional needs
- Carry out DSL duties and ensure safeguarding is prioritised at all times
- Support induction and mentoring of new staff and trainees
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
What we're looking for
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
- Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in an early years setting
- SENDCO and DSL trained
- Current Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Up-to-date safeguarding training and Food Hygiene certification
- Wellcomm trained (or willingness to obtain)
- If qualified after Jan 2024, DfE Maths & English Level 2 requirements met
- Enhanced DBS check and suitable references
Desirable: Wellcomm Toolkit, Early Help, Oral Health and Healthy Weight training.
