Experienced Vehicle Bodywork Paint Sprayer

Champion Motor Company is looking for an experienced vehicle bodywork paint sprayer to join our team in Cwmbran.
The role mainly involves minor cosmetic bodywork and paint repairs on cars and commercial vehicles. This may include SMART repairs, blow-ins and painting complete panels. We do not undertake major accident repairs or extensive structural bodywork. If a vehicle requires replacement panels or significant repair work, we generally will not take the job on.
A large part of the role will involve preparing, painting and fitting sport body kits to commercial vehicles. This includes fully stripping down bumpers, preparing textured plastic bumpers and refinishing them to a high-quality, colour-coded finish.
Main responsibilities
- Carrying out minor cosmetic bodywork and paint repairs
- Completing SMART repairs, blow-ins and full-panel refinishing
- Preparing, priming, colour-matching and spraying panels
- Stripping textured bumpers from commercial vehicles
- Preparing and spraying bumpers to achieve a smooth, colour-coded finish
- Fitting sport body kits, spoilers, splitters and other styling components
- Polishing and finishing repaired or painted areas
- Inspecting your own work and maintaining a consistently high standard
- Keeping the paint and preparation areas clean, organised and safe
- Completing work efficiently and within agreed timescales
Requirements
- Previous professional experience as a vehicle paint sprayer is essential
- Experience with cosmetic bodywork, SMART repairs and full-panel painting
- Experience preparing and refinishing textured plastic bumpers
- Confident stripping and rebuilding commercial vehicle bumpers
- A good understanding of paint preparation, colour matching and finishing
- Able to work independently and solve problems
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the finished product
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage your workload
- Your own reliable transport to and from work is essential
We are based in Cwmbran, conveniently located next to the train station.
