As a Chef de Partie with Sodexo at Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital, you’ll play an important role in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, visitors and staff. Working as part of a dedicated catering team, you’ll support the preparation, cooking and service of food while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and customer care.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll help ensure meals are prepared to specification, special dietary requirements are met, and kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently. If you’re passionate about food, take pride in quality and enjoy working in a collaborative environment where your work makes a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose, develop your skills and thrive in your own way.
What you’ll do:
-
Prepare and cook high-quality meals for patients, visitors and staff, following agreed recipes, dietary requirements and production schedules.
-
Support the delivery of safe, hygienic and efficient food services in line with food safety legislation, company policies and hospital standards.
-
Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation to ensure an excellent dining experience.
-
Complete and maintain all required food safety, temperature and quality assurance records accurately.
-
Assist with stock control, stock rotation, ordering, deliveries and inventory checks to minimise waste and maintain availability.
-
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across all kitchen, storage and service areas.
-
Support meal service operations and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure services are delivered on time.
-
Help train and support team members, while contributing to a positive, inclusive and customer-focused environment.
What you bring:
-
Previous experience in a Chef de Partie or similar catering role, ideally within healthcare, hospitality or contract catering.
-
Strong food preparation, cooking and presentation skills with attention to quality and consistency.
-
Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations.
-
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent), with relevant catering qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or equivalent.
-
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
-
A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach, with the ability to support colleagues and adapt to changing business needs.
-
Awareness of stock management, waste reduction and cost control principles.
