We are looking for Apprentice, Trainee and Qualified Oak Frame Designers to join our growing team, creating bespoke oak and timber-framed buildings including homes, extensions, garages and garden rooms.
As an Oak Frame Designer, you will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and our production team to design high-quality oak-framed structures, transforming concepts into detailed production drawings while ensuring designs are practical, structurally sound, and visually outstanding.
About the Role
Depending on your experience, you'll be involved in:
- Producing CAD drawings and 3D models for bespoke oak-framed buildings.
- Developing designs from initial concepts through to production.
- Working with clients, architects, engineers and our workshop team.
- Ensuring designs meet structural, practical and aesthetic requirements.
- Learning traditional oak framing techniques alongside modern design methods.
We're Looking For
We welcome applications from:
Qualified Designers
- Experience in oak frame or timber frame design.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or Dietrich's.
- Strong technical drawing and problem-solving skills.
Apprentices & Trainees
- An interest in design, construction, architecture or woodworking.
- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Good attention to detail and enthusiasm for traditional craftsmanship.
- Experience is not essential – full training will be provided for the right candidate.
