We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Bar Supervisor to join our Food & Beverage team at the award-winning Bromley Court Hotel.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our Garden Bar, Lounge Bar, and beverage service throughout the hotel. You'll lead by example on the floor, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and play a key role in training and developing our team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Brasserie & Bars Manager, the Bar Supervisor will oversee bar operations while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, beverage quality, stock control, and team performance.
This is an operational role where you will spend the majority of your time serving guests, supporting colleagues, and ensuring service standards are consistently met. Depending on business levels, you may work independently on quieter shifts or lead larger teams during weddings, conferences, functions, and busy service periods.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Food & Beverage team members on every shift.
- Deliver on-the-job training to improve service standards, product knowledge, and sales skills.
- Lead by example and provide clear direction and real-time feedback.
- Ensure all team members follow company standards, licensing regulations, and operating procedures.
- Identify development needs and support ongoing staff progression.
Guest Experience & Table Service
- Take ownership of bar table service standards across the hotel.
- Ensure guests receive a warm welcome and attentive service throughout their visit.
- Support colleagues in delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Drive upselling and product recommendations to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue.
- Respond professionally to guest feedback and resolve issues efficiently.
Bar Operations
- Supervise the daily operation of the Garden Bar and Lounge Bar.
- Ensure all bar areas are presented, stocked, and maintained to the highest standard.
- Support beverage service for restaurants, meetings, conferences, weddings, and events.
- Maintain excellent cellar management, stock rotation, and product quality.
- Complete opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and till reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, Challenge 25, and responsible alcohol service practices.
Stock Control & Commercial Performance
- Support stock ordering and inventory management.
- Complete stock counts and investigate variances where required.
- Minimise waste and ensure products are stored correctly.
- Help drive beverage sales through strong product knowledge and customer engagement.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Monitor service quality and implement improvements where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance issues and operational risks promptly.
What We're Looking For: Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in a bar, hospitality, or Food & Beverage environment.
- Experience leading shifts, supervising colleagues, or supporting team development.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good understanding of licensing regulations and food safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
