Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and inspiring Creative Music Facilitator to lead engaging African musical experiences for young people (12-24) that foster community, creativity, and emotional expression.
In this role, you will design and facilitate music sessions tailored to diverse groups, encouraging participation and personal growth through the power of sound. Responsibilities
- Develop dynamic and inclusive African music programs suited for young people between 12-24 age groups with various skill levels
- Lead interactive music sessions that promote active participation, collaboration, and self-expression
- Select appropriate African musical ctivities, instruments, and techniques to engage participants effectively
- Foster a positive environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and emotional well-being
- Adapt session content based on group needs, feedback, and progress to ensure meaningful experiences
- Collaborate with team members to plan special events or themed musical activities that enhance community engagement
- Maintain equipment, instruments, and session materials in excellent condition for safe use
Experience
- Proven experience in leading group music activities or facilitating musical workshops
- Strong knowledge of diverse African musical genres, instruments, and facilitation techniques
- Excellent communication skills to motivate participants and foster a welcoming atmosphere
- Ability to adapt sessions for different age groups, abilities, and cultural backgrounds
- Prior experience working with young people, community groups, schools, or therapeutic settings is a plus
- Passion for using music as a tool for connection, healing, and personal development
