Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Waking Night Children’s Support Worker to provide overnight assistance and supervision for children in our care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of children during the night hours. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives whilst working within a supportive team environment.
Duties
- Monitor children throughout the night to ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioural issues, following established care plans
- Maintain accurate records of overnight observations and incidents
- Support children in maintaining routines and ensuring they are settled for sleep
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and team members regarding children's needs and progress
- Follow organisational policies and procedures related to child safeguarding and health & safety
- Complete relevant documentation accurately and confidentially using IT systems
Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably in a childcare or support setting
- Valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation if needed
- Knowledge of child care practices and ability to implement care plans effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise professionally with colleagues and families
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Compassionate, patient, and able to work independently during night shifts
- Flexibility to work during night hours on a shift basis, predominantly overnight shifts in a supportive environment
- Working pattern is a 3 on 3 off
- Solo placement.
Pay: £14.00-£14.75 per hour
