OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Contact is a friendly, music-loving neighbourhood spot where great drinks meet good vibes. We’re all about relaxed service, cracking playlists, and making every guest feel welcome.
As a member of Contact’s bar team, you’ll be a welcoming face, providing friendly and efficient bar service while preparing drinks, handling payments and maintaining a clean, safe and well-stocked bar.
MAIN TASKS
Be the welcoming public face of Contact.
Serve drinks quickly and accurately; take orders at the bar and via the till
Prepare basic cocktails and pour to house standards
Keep the bar area clean and stocked; restock glassware, garnishes and supplies
Handle cash and card payments and close out tabs responsibly
Greet guests with a smile and provide friendly, efficient service
Support team members during busy shifts and help with opening/closing tasks
Follow licencing and safety rules including age checks and responsible service of alcohol
Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and healthy environment at all times, checking health and safety regulations are maintained.
Arrive punctually for shifts
Communicate in a clear and professional manner at all times.
GENERAL
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required in connection with the position.
To manage all personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulations.
Follow Contact’s Health & Safety policy, undertaking duties as required and ensure reasonable care is taken to maintain a healthy and safe place for public and staff, including following and implementing all COVID-secure measures.
Actively commit to Contact’s Equal Opportunities policy, Contact’s Safeguarding of Young People policy and Contact’s Anti-Racism working practises.
Represent Contact at external events as required
Get involved with creative work being presented by Contact by attending workshops, read-throughs, rehearsals and performances on a regular basis
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
Possess excellent communication and customer service skills and a friendly approach even under pressure.
Ability to engage confidently with a wide range of people.
Good communication skills and a friendly front-of-house presence
Ability to problem solve and think quickly on feet in changing circumstances.
Positive attitude and a team-player mindset
An enthusiasm for working in a richly diverse environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
