Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled 3.5T Plant & Tool Delivery Driver/Fitter to join our busy team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering plant equipment and tools to various sites, ensuring timely and safe transportation. You will also perform basic maintenance, and repair tasks on a range of plant machinery and tools. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving with hands-on mechanical and electrical work, supporting the smooth operation of construction and industrial equipment.
A full clean Standard UK Licence is essential.
Duties
- Safely operate a 3.5-ton delivery vehicle to transport plant equipment, tools, and parts to customer sites or job locations
- Load and unload equipment ensuring secure transportation
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on plant machinery
- Conduct welding, soldering, electrical work, and fabrication tasks as needed for equipment repairs or modifications
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, service records, and safety documentation in compliance with company standards
Skills
- Some mechanical knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during deliveries and collections
- Heavy lifting capability to handle large or awkward plant components safely
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy machinery operation and maintenance
