Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Guard to oversee the safety and security of our premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring access points, patrolling designated areas, and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and property. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond swiftly to any incidents or emergencies. Key details
This position requires to be worked during the hours of 06:45 to 19:15, 4 days on and 4 days off.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks.
- Control access points by checking identification and issuing visitor passes as required.
- Perform ID checks (following company procedure) on new agency staff.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, following established protocols.
- Maintain detailed logs of activities, incidents, and security checks for record-keeping purposes.
- Assist visitors and staff with directions or enquiries in a courteous manner.
- Report any suspicious activity or safety hazards to management immediately.
- Enforce site policies regarding safety and security procedures at all times.
- Booking in deliveries and managing despatching of goods.
- Signing in of sub contracts, issuing permits to work and ensuring all legislative requirements are met.
- Completing 2 hourly site patrols.
- Weekly testing of fire alarms across the site.
- Weekly testing of sprinkler pumps.
- Weekly fire shutter and fire door inspections.
- Ensure that work area is kept clean and tidy.
- Work within health and safety at work act of 1974 at all times and in all working areas.
- Ad-hoc tasks may be requested from time to time that is not listed above, but will be required.
- Perform any reasonable management instruction with time frame requested.
- Ensure all reports relating to testing of fire alarms, sprinkler pumps, fire shutter and fire doors are completed directly after testing.
- Complete Daily Occurrence Book.
- Remain active and alert at all times.
Minimum requirements
- At least a year's experience in security or a related field.
- Valid SIA Licence.
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during stressful situations.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness sufficient for patrol duties and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Pay: £27,775.75 per year
