About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and motivated Class 2 Night-Time Driver to join our team in Croydon. This is a great opportunity for a professional driver who takes pride in delivering excellent service, working safely, and being part of a well-run logistics operation. This is a team-based multi-drop role involving deliveries across London, with a driver’s mate/porter provided on every shift to support loading, unloading, and efficient completion of each route. We are looking for someone who is organised, efficient, and confident managing a busy delivery schedule.
Working hours are 8pm to 5am, offering a consistent night shift pattern for someone who enjoys working independently and keeping deliveries moving efficiently through the night. The role may also include occasional weekend working or overtime, depending on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out scheduled multi-drop night-time deliveries and collections across London in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
· Drive a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle in accordance with road traffic laws, driver hours rules, and tachograph regulations.
· Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects, damage, or maintenance issues promptly.
· Work closely with the porter to ensure goods are loaded, unloaded, and delivered safely and efficiently.
· Accurately complete delivery paperwork, manifests, and handheld device records where required.
· Communicate delays, issues, or incidents to the Nights Manager and/or transport office.
· Maintain high standards of customer service when delivering to the individual stores.
· Follow all health and safety procedures, including site-specific instructions and manual handling guidelines.
· Keep the vehicle clean, roadworthy, and compliant with company standards.
About You
· Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
· Valid Driver CPC qualification.
· Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph, and road transport regulations.
· Previous experience in a Class 2 driving role is preferred.
· Ideal for drivers who work well with a porter on busy London routes.
· Ability to work independently during night shifts and manage time effectively.
· Good communication skills and a professional, dependable attitude.
· Physically fit and comfortable with loading, unloading, and manual handling where required.
· No more than 6 penalty points on licence and no serious driving convictions, subject to company insurance criteria.
