Job Overview
We are looking for a new part-time member of our front of house team here at Roos, based in cardiff's beautiful Sofia Gardens. We are looking for someone with relevent expierince, that can jump in and be a valued member of our team from the get-go! We work at a fast pace, offering all our guests the best experience every time, with friendly yet classy hospitality. We are happy to train people on the job, but due to the nature of our service, we need a fast learner and a good listener.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables with a friendly attitude
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems or manual methods
- Serve meals, drinks, and desserts efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and safety
- Ensure food safety standards are upheld during food handling and service
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Clear tables promptly, manage guest requests professionally, and handle payments accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas in compliance with health regulations
- Support team members during peak hours to ensure seamless service flow
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant settings with a strong focus on guest services
- Knowledge of serving techniques, food safety protocols, and basic food preparation skills
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for billing and transactions
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience is a plus for supporting food prep tasks
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy shifts
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members
- Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
Pay: £12.71 per hour
