Job Overview
As a Supervisor at Barbette you will be required to run shifts and sections in a busy service to a high standard whilst having the crucial role of welcoming guests into our space for them to feel comfortable. The role will suit someone with a passion for wine, authentic hospitality and looking for a further career in hospitality

Responsibilities
- Lead by example to deliver exceptional guest experiences, ensuring consistently high service standards and efficient drink preparation during every shift.
- Supervise, motivate, and support the team, providing guidance, and on-shift training to maintain quality, consistency, and productivity.
- Oversee service flow and manage drink ticket times, ensuring all beverages are prepared to specification while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of the food and beverage menus, driving upselling opportunities, promoting specials, and supporting the team in achieving sales targets.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, allergen management, licensing regulations, and waste tracking procedures.
- Monitor stock levels, oversee stock rotation using FIFO principles, assist with stock ordering and inventory counts, and minimise wastage.
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the bar, stockroom, and service areas, ensuring all opening, closing, and weekly cleaning duties are completed.
- Support management with shift planning, team communication, and resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with confidence in handling guest feedback and resolving issues effectively.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Excellent knowledge of wines, cocktails, beers, and responsible alcohol service.
- Experience using reservation systems and EPOS; confidence in supporting team members with operational systems (full training provided where required).
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Professional appearance in accordance with the restaurant's uniform policy, with the ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, lifting stock, and working in a busy environment.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Minimum of 1–2 years' experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume, wine or cocktail-focused bar or high end hospitality venue.
Pay: £13.20-£16.20 per hour
