Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Breakfast / Lunch Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts to contribute to a vibrant dining environment, delivering exceptional meals to our guests. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety. There is an opportunity to pick up more hours to cover evening meals shifts for fellow chefs on holiday.
Will include some weekend work, currently shift pattern of Saturday 7.30am - 1.30pm, and Monday, Tuesday & Thursday (either 7.30am - 1.30pm or 8am - 2pm).
If covering evening shifts, latest finish is 8pm - so no late 11pm or Midnight finishes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service schedules
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing as required
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
- Serve meals efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude towards guests
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly within a professional kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent culinary skills with the ability to prepare a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Experience in serving guests in a hospitality setting is advantageous
