Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/ MOT Tester to join our team. you will be responsible for conducting vehicle inspections, carrying out repairs and vehicle MOT's ensuring that they they are carried out to an excellent standard. This is a crucial role in ensuring our Customers vehicles are maintained to the best possible standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MOT tests on vehicles in accordance with established guidelines and regulations
-Inspect and diagnose vehicles using visual checks, road tests, and diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
-Perform routine servicing, including oil and filter changes, fluid checks, brake inspections, tyre rotations, and scheduled maintenance.
-Repair or replace components such as brakes, clutches, timing belts, gearboxes, batteries, sensors, suspension components and Timing Belts.
-Test repaired vehicles and systems to confirm correct operation, reliability, and roadworthiness.
-Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
-Complete job cards and maintenance records, documenting faults, repairs, parts used, and time spent.
-Communicate repair requirements clearly to service advisers, supervisors, and customers.
-Maintain tools and workshop equipment in safe, serviceable condition.
-Follow health and safety procedures, including the correct handling of hazardous materials and use of protective equipment.
-Work efficiently to deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in a professional workshop.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Skills: Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently on complex repairs.
- Attitude: A team player who takes pride in doing the job right the first time.
