Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to clients in their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, and possess a caring attitude. Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This paid position is suitable for individuals who are organised, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional care.

Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming with the utmost dignity.
- Mobility Support: Support clients with mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment and safe techniques.
- Daily Living Support: Help with meal preparation and light domestic chores to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
- Medication Administration: Assist with or administer medication as prescribed (following completed training and competency assessments).
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate digital care records, update care plans, and document any changes in the client’s condition using our IT systems.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.
- Safety First: Follow health and safety and infection control guidelines to ensure the well-being of both clients and staff.
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely within the local area (nice-to-have)
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good command of English, both spoken and written
- Strong IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to help others
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
