Deansgate Dental Studio is a fully private practice in the heart of Deansgate Square. We deliver high-end dentistry wrapped in a genuinely luxury patient experience - and we've invested in the team and the technology to back that up. Our surgeries are equipped with the latest techniques, materials and technology, and our clinicians are among the best in the city.
This is a full training role. You don't need dental experience - you need the right attitude, and a serious commitment to qualifying.
What we'll give you
- Full sponsorship of your Level 3 Dental Nursing course
- 6 hours of paid study time each week, plus a dedicated mentor from day one
- Structured in-house training in decontamination, radiography, materials and chairside technique
- A clear pathway to qualification, GDC registration and a pay increase on the day you qualify
- Exposure to implant, cosmetic and restorative work from the outset, not just check-ups
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and maintaining surgeries, instruments and materials
- Carrying out decontamination and infection control procedures to HTM 01-05 standards
- Providing chairside support to dentists, therapists and hygienists across a range of specialist procedures
- Recording clinical charting and maintaining accurate patient records
- Preparing, mixing and handling dental materials
- Supporting and reassuring patients before, during and after treatment
- Front-of-house and reception support - booking appointments, taking payments, handling correspondence
Who we're looking for
- Warm, professional and genuinely caring with patients
- Calm and organised under pressure - busy clinics don't faze you
- Excellent spoken communication, in person and on the phone
- Punctual and reliable, with real attention to detail
- A team player who takes ownership without being asked twice
- Committed to completing your training within [18 months]
Also required: the right to work in the UK, a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, and evidence of Hepatitis B immunity (or willingness to complete the course).
Hours and shifts
32.5 paid hours per week, worked across five days.
You'll rotate between two shifts:
- Early: 7:30am to 3:00pm
- Late: 2:30pm to 10:00pm
Each shift includes a 60-minute unpaid break, so your attendance is 37.5 hours and your paid hours are 32.5.
Once you're trained and established in the role, weekend working (7:30am to 3:00pm or 2:30pm to 10pm) will also be required. Where you work a weekend, you'll take a day(s) off during the week so that you always work five days in total - you won't be working a sixth day.
You may be asked to work a full day shift (7:30am to 10pm). A full day counts as two of your five working days for that week.
Your rota is published four weeks in advance, so you can plan around it. Shift patterns are subject to change to meet the needs of the practice.
Pay and benefits
Rates of pay are aligned to the National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage bands applicable to the successful candidate - currently £8.00 per hour (under 18), £10.85 per hour (18–20) and £12.71 per hour (21 and over). Pay is reviewed each April in line with statutory rates, and increases on qualification.
- Course fees paid in full (not including resits)
