ABOUT THE JOB
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, ensuring everything from guest bedrooms and public areas to plant equipment and holiday cottages are maintained to the highest standard. You'll oversee planned preventative maintenance, respond to day-to-day repairs, and play a key role in ensuring our buildings remain safe, compliant, and welcoming.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking ownership. Whether it's replacing a light fitting, coordinating statutory testing, or planning longer-term maintenance projects, you'll help ensure our guests experience the very best of our properties without ever seeing what goes on behind the scenes.
As part of the wider Woodford team, you'll work closely with managers across departments and play an important role in protecting and preserving the places that make our business unique.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INVOLVE:
- Maintaining guest bedrooms, public areas, cottages, grounds, and back-of-house facilities to the highest standard.
- Planning and carrying out preventative maintenance to protect the condition and longevity of our buildings and assets.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and prioritising repairs to minimise disruption to guests and the wider team.
- Completing a range of maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical work, decorating, carpentry, furniture repairs, and general upkeep.
- Conducting regular property inspections and identifying maintenance issues before they impact the guest experience.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance requests, completed works, compliance checks, and planned projects.
- Managing our online compliance systems and ensuring statutory certifications, testing, and documentation remain up to date.
- Carrying out weekly fire alarm testing and supporting the delivery of fire safety procedures across the business.
- Completing Legionella testing and other compliance checks in line with company policies and risk assessments.
- Working closely with Reception, Housekeeping, and Management teams to coordinate maintenance works effectively.
- Monitoring maintenance budgets, managing purchasing responsibly, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising standards.
- Ensuring maintenance stores, tools, equipment, and stock are organised, secure, and properly maintained.
- Keeping external areas, grounds, and guest-facing spaces safe, tidy, and well presented.
- Supporting property improvement projects and operational initiatives across the wider business.
- Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, fire safety, and statutory compliance at all times.
