Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Cleaner/Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic, organised, and well-presented, contributing to a positive experience for children, staff, and visitors. Previous experience in commercial cleaning desirable. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
The position will be to work 3 hours per day, five days per week.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning duties across nursery premises, including play areas, restrooms, kitchens, and staff rooms
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitised and free from dust, dirt, and clutter
- Dispose of waste responsibly and replenish cleaning supplies as needed
- Maintain organisation of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
- Adhere to infection control procedures, especially in sensitive areas such as nurseries with young children
- Sort all laundry, making sure it is washed and dried for use daily
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Organised with excellent attention to detail
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Pay: £12.71 per hour
