PT Cyber is a managed IT and cyber security provider working exclusively with schools and education trusts across Merseyside and the North West. We're a small, close-knit team looking for an experienced IT Engineer to take full ownership of our client base.
This is a hands-on role. You will be the person our schools call when something goes wrong, and you will be the person who fixes it. You'll be trusted to make decisions and own outcomes — not hand tickets up a chain. If you want to grow, be trusted, and make a real difference to the schools you support — this is it.
The Role
You'll carry a portfolio of school clients across Liverpool and Merseyside, visiting sites regularly and managing all day-to-day IT needs remotely and on-site. You'll work closely with the director but operate independently day to day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Visiting client schools — minimum 3 days per week on-site across the client base
- Owning all server, backup, and AV management for your schools
- Responding to and resolving support tickets via our PSA platform
- Managing Microsoft 365 tenants, Azure AD / Entra ID, and Intune MDM
- Maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure — switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewalls
- Handling cyber security incidents and supporting Cyber Essentials compliance
- Building strong relationships with school staff, headteachers, and business managers
- Attending occasional networking events and representing PT Cyber professionally
- Earning commission on any new contracts you bring in
What We Need From You
- Solid Windows Server experience — administration, patching, backup, and fault resolution
- Strong Microsoft 365 and Azure AD / Entra ID skills
- Networking fundamentals — VLANs, switches, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP
- Endpoint management experience — Intune, Group Policy, or similar
- A genuine interest in cyber security — incidents, patching, AV, compliance
- Confident communicator — you'll be dealing with non-technical school staff every day
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Education sector experience is a strong advantage but not essential
What We Offer
- £34,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
- Commission on any new contracts you secure
- Mileage reimbursement for all client travel
- A small team where your work is visible, valued, and makes a direct difference
Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Application question(s):
- Are you able to travel to school sites across Liverpool and Merseyside on a regular basis?
- What is your notice period?
- Have you worked in or around the education sector?
- Do you hold a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle?
