Homeleigh Aquatics, in Homeleigh Garden Centre Launceston, is one of the leading aquatics centres in the South West and it is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Aquatic Retail Assistant to join our friendly team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in aquatics and fishkeeping to work in a specialist retail environment, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the highest standards of livestock care.
This role is part time working Saturdays & Sundays. (Some mid week shifts will be available). 9am til close on all days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service and expert advice across all areas of aquatics, including tropical, marine, and coldwater systems.
- Maintain and care for aquatic livestock, ensuring tanks are clean, healthy, and well-presented.
- Support with stock management, merchandising, and product displays.
- Assist with water testing, feeding, and general maintenance of aquatic systems.
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the department and the wider store.
Candidate Requirements:
- A strong interest or prior experience in aquatics, fishkeeping, or pet retail (training can be provided for the right candidate).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
