Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring that all areas meet health and safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within a busy pub setting. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Wash and sterilise dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock levels, including checking deliveries and storing items appropriately.
- Dispose of waste responsibly in accordance with environmental policies.
- Support the team during busy service periods by ensuring all kitchen areas are clean and ready for operation.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.
- Good time keeping & reliable
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
