Monarc Services is a growing Grimsby-based business specialising in welding equipment maintenance, calibration, LEV inspection, compliance, and consumable and product supply. As a recognised approved manufacturer service facility for multiple manufacturers, we pride ourselves on the quality of our service and our compliance standards. We're looking for a reliable Administration Assistant to help keep our back office running smoothly.
This is a hands-on role in a small team, so you'll get variety and real responsibility rather than one narrow task all day.
The role
Supporting day-to-day admin across the business, including:
- Answering calls and emails, and handling customer enquiries
- Quoting customer enquiries
- Raising purchase orders and invoices
- Booking in engineers and scheduling inspections, services and calibrations
- Keeping compliance and calibration certificates organised and up to date
- General data entry, filing and record-keeping
- Chasing outstanding payments and supporting basic bookkeeping
- Ordering office and workshop supplies
What we're looking for
- Solid admin experience (any industry — engineering or compliance is a bonus but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail — compliance is a core part of what we do, so accuracy really matters
- Confident on the phone and comfortable dealing with customers
- Well organised and able to juggle a few things at once
- Experience with QuickBooks ideally, though not essential — we'll train the right person
- Good with Microsoft Office / general computer systems
- Happy working in a small, busy team and using your own initiative
Apprenticeship option
If you already have some administrative experience and are looking to work towards a formal qualification, we're open to supporting the right person through an apprenticeship scheme. Please note we do need a solid base level of experience to start with — we're a busy operation, so you'll need to be up and running fairly quickly. For candidates taking the apprenticeship route, the hourly rate will be in line with national apprenticeship pay rates.
Benefits
After 6 months' employment, all employees are offered private healthcare through Vitality, including:
- Zero excess
- Medical cover
- Dental
- Optical
- Mental health support
- Access to the Vitality rewards programme, with discounts across a wide range of health and lifestyle brands and products
Hours & pay
- Part-time, 3 days per week
- Ideal days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Some flexibility week to week can be discussed, but predominantly these days — we can talk this through during the interview.
- 8-hour days with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (7.5 paid hours per day / 22.5 hours per week)
- Pay: £13.00 per hour
- Based on-site at Unit 14, Spencer Street, Grimsby, DN31 3AA
- Although this is a part-time role at present, there is potential for it to become full-time further down the line as the business grows.
