Keep a growing tuition centre running like clockwork
HD Tuition is Taunton's leading private tuition centre. We've helped over 500 local families. Our small team of fully qualified teachers works with students in groups of no more than four, and behind every great lesson is a well-run office.
That's where you come in.
Our managing director Chloe currently runs the entire operation herself. The business has grown faster than one person can manage. We're hiring a Business PA & Office Coordinator to become her right hand: someone organised, sharp on detail, and confident with technology, who takes pride in being the person who makes everything work.
What you'll do
As Office Coordinator:
- Send lesson work and resources to student iPads at the start of each day.
- Make sure every teacher and every room has exactly what they need, every day
- Create student calendars and marketing material in Canva
- Keep our internal student management system accurate and up to date (full training provided)
As Business PA to Chloe:
- Manage scheduling: lessons, taster sessions, meetings etc.
- Handle parent communication by phone and email, warmly and professionally
- Help create content for the business (social posts, printed materials, parent updates)
- Take on a wide range of ad hoc admin tasks so Chloe can focus on students and growth
No two days are the same. Term time is fast-paced, and you'll often be juggling several things at once; you'll need to enjoy that.
Who we're looking for
You don't need experience in education. You do need:
- Exceptional attention to detail: a wrong date on a calendar or work sent to the wrong iPad affects a child's lesson
- Strong tech skills: confident with iPad OS, spreadsheets, and either experienced with Canva or quick to pick it up with training
- Excellent communication: you'll be a main point of contact for parents, so you must be warm, clear and professional on the phone and in writing
- Serious organisational ability: you keep lists, you follow through, and nothing slips
- Comfort with pace: you stay calm and accurate when the office is busy
- A proactive mindset: you spot what needs doing before being asked
Bonus points (not essential):
- Experience in a PA, administrator, receptionist or office coordinator role
- Experience with Canva, Google Workspace or a CRM/booking system
- Experience in a school, tuition centre or other child-focused setting
What you'll get
- £13.00 per hour (32.5 paid hours per week)
- Term-time only – every school holiday off. If you have children at school, your working year matches theirs
- Paid training before you start: a couple of weeks over the summer to learn our systems, so you begin September feeling confident, not thrown in
- Full training on our internal systems and Canva
- A genuinely meaningful role; the work you do directly helps local children succeed
- A small, friendly team that will value you from day one
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role (we'll arrange and cover this).
