Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves supporting the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods within our warehouse environment.
This role will join a new team to our business, specifically tasked with fulfillment of large hamper orders for key accounts, and will be tasked with checking stock in, splitting orders down, picking, filling and packing hampers and then preparing goods for shipment.
Duties
- Handling materials and stock, including loading and unloading goods from lorries using appropriate equipment
- Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, process orders, and update stock records accurately
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with company standards
- Managing stock and consumables, organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products to maintain high standards
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times during daily operations
Skills
- Proven experience in materials handling, picking & packing, or related warehouse roles
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control and order processing
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and quality assurance
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and load/unload activities; able to lift loads up to 25kg or more safely
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required
- Good communication skills for liaising with team members and other departments
