Job Description
SDL Logistics Solutions Ltd is looking for a highly organised Distribution Operations Manager to oversee the performance of our end-to-end distribution network across regional operations. This role focuses on maintaining efficient product movement, improving operational workflows, and ensuring that distribution activities consistently meet customer expectations, commercial objectives, and compliance standards. You will be instrumental in driving operational resilience while leading initiatives that strengthen service reliability and network performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily distribution operations to ensure products are dispatched, transported, and delivered in accordance with operational targets.
- Develop operational strategies that improve warehouse-to-customer distribution efficiency and reduce service disruptions.
- Oversee regional distribution schedules, transport coordination, inventory flow, and resource utilisation.
- Review operational performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to enhance productivity.
- Lead distribution supervisors and operational teams by establishing clear objectives and promoting a culture of accountability.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, health and safety requirements, and company operational procedures.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, customer service, and commercial departments to optimise supply chain performance.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in distribution management, logistics operations, supply chain management, or transport operations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, fleet coordination, inventory management, and logistics planning.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transport Management Systems (TMS), and operational reporting tools.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.

Pay: £38,000.00-£76,000.00 per year
