Join us as an Interest Rate Risk Manager
- Join a 1st line of defence team with a broad mandate, responsible for managing NatWest's structural interest rate hedge and the interest rate risk arising from our customer businesses
- We'll look to you to forecast, quantify and provide hedging recommendations to manage interest rate risk arising from customer activity and Treasury's balance sheet through the use of interest rate swaps and securities
- This is a role where you'll manage risk as principal, working closely with Treasury Markets and our customer businesses to understand their requirements
- You'll have the opportunity to further develop your existing skills while broadening your knowledge across financial markets, banking and Asset & Liability Management
As an Interest Rate Risk Manager, you'll play a key role in explaining day on day changes in the desk’s risk position, forecasting product volumes and portfolio runoff, and recommending and implementing hedging strategies to manage the bank's net interest rate risk position.
You'll also be involved in the management of Treasury's spot and forward foreign currency positions, as well as the funding and hedging of foreign currency branches and subsidiaries.
You’ll also:
- Liaise with business stakeholders to develop a deeper understanding of balance sheet dynamics, management accounting and customer product flows
- Work closely with Treasury Markets to ensure hedging activity reflects prevailing wholesale market conditions and liquidity considerations
- Partner with the Hedge Accounting team to minimise IFRS accounting volatility on legal entity income statements
- Produce analysis and papers on key topics and emerging issues for ALM senior management and governance forums
We're looking for a self-motivated and proactive individual with a strong interest in banking, financial markets and balance sheet management. In addition to a degree in a relevant subject, you'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
