Based at: Shrewsbury
Job Purpose
We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic support worker to join our team and support an 18-year-old man living at home with his family in Wem, Shrewsbury.
He has profound and multiple disabilities and requires 24-hour support. The role involves providing high quality care while promoting his wellbeing and participation in activities he enjoys.
Key responsibilities
Provide support with all aspects of personal care, ensuring dignity, comfort and hygiene at all times.
Assist with daily living activities and routines
Support mobility and transfer using a track hoist
Monitor and respond appropriately to seizures in line with care plans, training provided.
Support PEG feeding and associated care needs
To perform any other tasks that are reasonable required
Person Specification:
Driver preferred
Be patient and supportive.
Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
Be respectful of the gentleman’s dignity, at all times.
Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and willingness to raise any concerns immediately.
A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
