Flexible, ad-hoc days — and you're paid to drive. £12.71/hr base paid door to door, PLUS £5 for every qualifying treatment activity you assist with. On a typical day real earnings reach £22.71 an hour or more.
We're looking for a GDC-registered dental nurse who fancies something different. This isn't a normal surgery job - it's flexible, ad-hoc, home-visit work supporting private mobile dentists who treat housebound and vulnerable patients across the country.
Genuinely flexible:
Zero-hours and fully flexible. You choose the days you offer and you're free to accept or decline any session - no fixed rota, no fixed hours, no fixed base. Work as much or as little as suits you around other commitments - typically around 2 days a week available to start.
Paid to drive:
Day trips to Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and London - you drive, taking the equipment with you, and every mile of it is on the clock. Pay is door to door: your travel time is paid at the full hourly rate, not just time with the patient, plus petrol at 18p per mile. Occasional sessions assisting in a surgery setting in Great Barr.
How the pay works:
£12.71 per hour base, paid door to door. On top, you earn £5 for every qualifying treatment activity you assist with: scale & polishes, fillings, extractions, sutures, denture impressions, bite registrations, try-ins and denture fits.
A worked example - a typical denture and extraction day:
6 hours door to door at £12.71 = £76.26
12 qualifying activities at £5 each (4 denture impressions, 2 bite registrations, 2 denture fits, 4 extractions) = £60.00
Day total: £136.26 - equivalent to £22.71 per hour, plus petrol.
Most sessions include several qualifying activities, so real earnings sit well above the base rate. All incentive payments are subject to contract - full scheme terms provided to successful applicants.
What you'll need:
Current GDC registration. Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a car, insured for business use, with room to carry dental equipment. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Up-to-date Hepatitis B immunisation. Reliable, organised, and happy working independently and away from a fixed base. Full training provided for home-visit dentistry - no prior home-visit experience needed.
