We support our members to start, run and grow their businesses through expert advice, market‑leading benefits, local support, and influential campaigning on the issues that matter most. We’re now looking for a Policy Advisor to join our Northern Ireland team.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape policy that makes a real difference to small businesses across Northern Ireland.
You’ll support the development of evidence-based policy across a wide range of issues, ensuring FSB continues to respond effectively to a fast-changing political and economic landscape. You’ll work closely with colleagues, members and stakeholders to develop practical solutions that reflect the real experiences of small business owners.
- Develop and communicate policy positions on issues affecting small businesses
- Undertake research, including surveys, focus groups, and case study interviews
- Produce high-quality reports, briefings and consultation responses
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, policymakers and stakeholders
- Represent FSB at meetings, events, and across media channels
- Monitor political and legislative developments in Northern Ireland, the UK and beyond
Support strategic planning and contribute to FSB’s policy priorities

You’ll bring:
- Experience in a policy, public affairs or research-focused role
- A strong understanding of public policy processes in Northern Ireland
- Excellent written, analytical and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work at pace
