Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on commercial driving and delivery operations.
Duties
- Operate curtainside lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, adhering to weight limits and safety protocols
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times whilst maintaining compliance with driving hours regulations
- Deliver goods to designated locations, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries
- Maintain detailed records of journeys, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Communicate professionally with dispatch teams, clients, and colleagues throughout the day
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during operations
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver specialising in curtainside transportation or similar roles
- Prior delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Valid Class 1 HGV licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in driving curtainside vehicles preferred but not essential; training will be provided if necessary
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
