Duties
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Design and execute functional, system, performance, load, and user acceptance tests to validate software features against requirements.
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts during requirements gathering to understand project scope and define clear test cases.
- Integrate testing frameworks with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback cycles.
- Conduct root cause analysis on defects identified during testing phases to facilitate prompt resolution and prevent recurrence.
- Perform API testing utilizing REST and SOAP web services to verify data exchange integrity across distributed systems.
- Support release management activities by validating new builds, managing test environments, and ensuring smooth deployment processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software testing with a strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
- Hands-on expertise with test automation tools including Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, JUnit, and Appium for mobile testing (Android/iOS).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript for developing test scripts and troubleshooting issues.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools like LoadRunner or JMeter to assess system scalability under load conditions.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, SVN, or TFS for managing code repositories.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for deploying and testing applications in cloud environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis on test results and identify root causes of issues.
- Excellent communication skills to document test plans, write detailed defect reports, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, REST APIs, SOAP web services, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB or DB2 for validating data integrity during tests.
- Ability to troubleshoot software issues using debugging tools within Visual Studio or Eclipse environments.
