Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Kent | Full-time | Salary: up to £85,000 per annum, DOE
About the role
Lakefront Care is looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead two children’s residential homes in Kent, with scope to take on a third home as we grow. You will hold Ofsted registration and be fully accountable for care quality, safeguarding and regulatory compliance across both sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage two children’s residential homes in Kent, with the potential to take on a third as we grow
- Hold Ofsted registration as Registered Manager, ensuring both homes meet the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection, promoting the welfare and best interests of every child
- Oversee assessment, admission and care planning, ensuring individualised, outcome-focused support
- Recruit, manage, develop and support staff teams across both homes, including rota and staffing levels
- Prepare for and respond to Ofsted inspections and regulatory visits
- Manage budgets, occupancy and resources across both homes
- Build strong working relationships with local authorities, commissioners, families and external professionals
Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it
- Significant experience in children’s residential care, including at a senior or management level
- Experience managing or overseeing more than one home is desirable
- Knowledge of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) as they apply to children is preferred
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between homes
