About the role
Bison Engineering & Construction Ltd is looking for an organised and reliable Office Administrator to join our busy and growing business.
This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the office, purchasing materials, maintaining project documentation and assisting with compliance administration. The successful candidate will need to be confident speaking with customers, suppliers and members of the project team.
Main responsibilities
- Purchasing materials, equipment and consumables for projects
- Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations
- Raising and processing purchase orders
- Monitoring deliveries and resolving any supplier or delivery issues
- Assisting with CE marking, UKCA marking and compliance documentation
- Maintaining project files, certificates and technical records
- Organising and updating project folders and job information
- Answering incoming telephone calls and dealing with enquiries
- Passing messages and enquiries to the appropriate team member
- General office administration, filing and data entry
- Logging company vehicle mileage, servicing, inspections and maintenance
- Monitoring vehicle documents, MOT dates and insurance information
- Assisting with project planning, scheduling and document control
- Communicating with site teams, customers and suppliers
- Supporting management with general administrative duties
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an office administration or purchasing role
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence dealing with customers and suppliers by telephone and email
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- The ability to manage several tasks and projects at the same time
- A professional and reliable approach to work
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, CE marking or UKCA compliance would be beneficial, but training can be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
