Pay: Competitive rate, dependent on experience
Teaching hours
- Mondays: 5:30pm–7:30pm in Wrexham
- Tuesdays: 4:30pm–6:30pm in Mold
Candidates who can only teach on one of the above days will also be considered.
About Creative Avenues
Creative Avenues Performing Arts is a friendly, inclusive and growing performing arts school providing high-quality dance, singing and drama training for children and young people across Mold and Wrexham.

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Drama Teacher to join our team from September 2026.
The successful candidate will teach drama to students aged 7–17 across our Wrexham and Mold schools. Students are divided into appropriate age groups and rotate between drama, singing and dance as part of their weekly performing arts training.
You will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging sessions that develop students’ acting ability, confidence, communication and performance skills. You will also help prepare students for shows, showcases and other performance opportunities throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate drama sessions.
- Teach students aged 7–17 with varying levels of ability and experience.
- Develop students’ acting, characterisation, improvisation and storytelling skills.
- Explore areas including voice, movement, facial expression, body language and stagecraft.
- Use drama games and exercises to build confidence, creativity and teamwork.
- Select, adapt and rehearse suitable scripts and performance material.
- Prepare students for shows, showcases and other performances.
- Adapt teaching to meet different ages, abilities and learning needs.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment.
- Manage behaviour appropriately and ensure students remain engaged.
- Work collaboratively with our singing and dance teachers and the wider Creative Avenues team.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have relevant professional, teaching or performance experience in drama, acting, theatre or performing arts.
- Be confident teaching groups of children and young people.
- Be able to deliver creative, energetic and enjoyable sessions.
- Be enthusiastic, approachable and encouraging.
- Be reliable, organised and able to commit to both weekly teaching sessions.
- Have strong communication and classroom-management skills.
- Work effectively as part of a wider teaching team.
- Be willing to contribute ideas for performances and future projects.
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to complete the required safeguarding checks.
A relevant qualification in drama, acting, theatre, performing arts or education would be beneficial, although practical teaching and industry experience will also be considered.
