Rutledge Recruitment is currently seeking Trainee Butchers to join a busy meat production facility based in Cullybackey, Ballymena.
Role Overview
As a Trainee Butcher, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality meat products within a busy production environment. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to develop their butchery skills and progress within the industry.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00am–2:30pm
- Finishing times may vary depending on workload and operational requirements
- Enhanced overtime rates available once 40 hours have been completed
Pay Rate
- Starting from £12.86 per hour
- Increasing up to £13.30 per hour depending on department, experience and role requirements
Duties Include
- Working with meat products in a chilled production environment
- Using knives to cut and trim meat into steaks, chops, roasts and other cuts
- Removing primal cuts from carcasses following correct cutting lines and seams
- Ensuring cuts meet customer specifications and yield requirements
- Packing raw meat products in a chilled/wet production environment
- Cleaning food hygiene areas using chemicals and machinery
- Reporting any issues or discrepancies to supervisors
- Following all Health & Safety, food hygiene and PPE procedures
- Working as part of a team to achieve production targets
- Loading and unloading products
Requirements
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, butchery or a similar role is beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Full training will be provided
- Good understanding of workplace hygiene and safety standards
