Assistant Accountant

- Month end entries and reconciliations
- Maintain accruals, prepayments and the fixed asset register
- Inventory and production control account reconciliations, investigations and internal audits
- Variance analysis
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Production of monthly management accounts and month end reporting
- Assistance with year end accounts preparation and audit support
- Payroll – accounts postings and analysis of payroll, including end to end payroll processing for weekly payroll (for holiday cover)
- Daily cash postings and reconciliation of bank statements
- Involvement / with both sales and purchase ledger processing and reconciliations
- Supplier payments
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of monthly management accounts
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and year end processes
- Experience of producing financial reports.
- Analytical mindset and strong Excel skills
- Experience of Sage Payroll, integrated ERP systems
- Excellent communication and people skills, attention to detail
- Well organised, hard working and flexible
